Last weekend I had the absolute pleasure of flying out to the Dordogne to photograph the wedding of Charlotte and Charlie. Château Cazenac also known as the ‘Fairytale Château’ is nestled in the rolling hills of the French countryside. Its romantic, rustic charm captures the hearts of everyone who visits it. Yet it has changed a lot since my last visit in 2019, having had a full renovation and extension, this incredible Château is now the epitome of chic elegance and luxury!
A black tie wedding for an elegant and stylish couple
The couple had their wedding ceremony in Château Cazenac’s barn – its such a stunning, rustic space and was filled with flowers cascading from the beams and pretty fairy lights on the walls! The ceremony was led by family friend and celebrant, Sally. They had a really emotional ceremony with lots beautiful readings and had written their own vows which always adds such a joyful, personal touch. There were of course plenty of tears.
After having confetti in front of the Château’s gorgeous entrance, Charlotte & Charlie and their guests enjoyed a champagne tower and a relaxed drinks reception in the courtyard before being seated for dinner. Charlotte & Charlie chose to have their speeches between courses which was a lovely way to break up the meal. Just before they had dessert the light outside was looking amazing so I whisked them off for their second couple photography session. The light during golden hour at Château Cazenac is so beautiful, with the sunshine setting and twinkling through the trees. Perfect for some intimate, relaxed and romantic images.
Before retiring to the stunning brand new orangery for the party, Charlotte changed into a gorgeous white, off the shoulder dress from ASOS. The perfect attire for a bride wanting to stay elegant but with the freedom to move and let her hair down. They danced and partied the night away to Charlie Sax.
This Château Cazenac wedding was an absolute joy to photograph and I’m so excited to be back there again next month, it’s such an incredible venue!
